Internet Tablet – Take Two

Nokia N810 Internet Tablet PCIf it wasn’t for the fact that I have a number of portable devices which can wirelessly connect to the internet, I would be very tempted by the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet PC. This latest version of the Nokia Internet tablet adds a slide out Qwerty keyboard to the Nokia 800 as an additional input option to the touch screen. Slightly larger and heavier than Windows Mobile PDAs, it never-the-less is very portable. The larger size allows it to feature a beautiful 800 x 480 pixel resolution screen which is just over 4 inches diagonally. It runs the Linux Operating System.

The Nokia tablet also has GPS as well as 802.11b and g wireless , presumably so you can find your way to the next nearest WiFi hotspot. You are not limited to WiFi hotspots to connect to the internet, you can also connect to the internet via a Bluetooth enabled cellphone. It has a webcam, microphone and speakers for a complete browsing experience

Although this is a Nokia device, it does not have any cellphone capabilities, but you can make calls using VoIP (Voice over IP - internet).

You can just imagine whipping this device out of your pocket at a local coffee shop and using it to connect to the internet while getting some “Wow!, what is that?” looks from nearby laptop users.
