UMPC almost thrown at wall
An hour of frustration with an UMPC, and I felt like throwing it against the wall. It wasn’t the fault of the Asus R2H, it was that somehow the 7 inch display of the tablet UMPC was not displaying all of the Windows Desktop. I could get the start menu up, but could not scroll down to see to the icons on the taskbar, and I particularly wanted to see the Battery percentage. By the time I realized I could display the battery percentage from the Control Panel, I had another problem - I was unable to reboot or shutdown the UMPC, only put
it into hibernate mode. The part of the manual which I had glanced at told me helpfully that the power button would turn the Asus R2H off in Windows XP, but not in Windows Vista. Guess what, it was running Windows Vista.

It is one of the larger UMPCs, measuring in at 9.2 by 5.2 by 1.1 inches and weighing 2.4 pounds. At that weight it could have really damaged the wall…
