New Wii/DS Games for the week of June 21st, 2009
This weeks releases for the various Nintendo consoles include their fair share of shovelware, which is not surprising considering their popularity. Fortunately I’ve managed to weed through them for the most part and have come to what could probably be considered the better releases for the week. I hope these help you decide on what to get, oh and I haven’t included the metacritic links this time. Not because I don’t care, but because I feel that there are a number of titles out there which are quite good and end up getting panned any ways. If I feel that a game isn’t up to par, trust in me, I’ll let you know. I’ll also be forward with you if I feel I’m a bit biased about something.
Check out these releases after the jump.
Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil - Wii - Action - Jun 23, 2009 - Capcom
This is a Wii port of the GameCube remake of the Playstation classic, Resident Evil. It features new areas to explore, in addition to revamped graphics and voice acting. The game play has also been retooled for the Wiimote, much like they did for the Wii version of Resident Evil 4, so if you were a fan of that, and a fan of the original, or just someone who hasn’t had a chance to play the original game yet, this title is for you.
The Conduit - Wii - Action - Jun 23, 2009 - Sega
While the game isn’t perfect, it’s probably the closest thing you’ll get to a decent shooter for the Wii, aimed at the hardcore gamer. The plot centers around an alien invasion of Washington, D.C., by a race called “the Drudge,” who use conduits to deploy their forces throughout the city. Your fighter eventually joins in the fight to stop the invasion and save the capital from destruction. It also features online multiplayer with up to 12 players and includes several game modes.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor - DS - Role-Playing - Jun 23, 2009 - Atlus
This tactical roleplaying title centers around a Japanese high school student and his two companions who are trapped in Tokyo after the government seals the city off due to a demon outbreak. With only a week until the city is completely wiped out, he’s forced to make contracts with the various demons in order to survive. The game has been getting some amazing reviews and should be worth your time to check it out.

Overlord Minions - DS - Puzzle - Jun 23, 2009 - Codemasters
Overlord: Minions is a puzzle title which allows the player to take control over the minions featured in the various Overlord games in order to solve puzzles and fight off enemies. This title differs in that it’s primarily puzzle based, and allows you to control the minions directly, instead of through an Overlord avatar.
