The Corn Zipper
As you might have already figured out, I’m a kitchen gadget junkie. Honestly, I can’t get enough. Kitchen gadgets are ALWAYS at the top of my Christmas list.
Imagine my delight when I recently discovered the Corn Zipper, an affordable little gadget that almost effortlessly removes corn from the cob. What a great idea, so much simpler than using a paring knife.
With sweet corn season almost in full swing, there is no better time than the present to pick up on of these little numbers. It’s ideal for those who have difficulty eating from the cob or those who love to add fresh corn to a variety of recipes.
(I’m having visions of corn pudding, ‘extra corny’ cornbread with bacon and cheese and succotash with baby lima beans… YUM!)
The Corn Zipper is constructed from high quality stainless steel, which makes it very durable and dishwasher safe.
The sharp teeth remove two rows of kernels, at a time. Because of its unique shape, these niblets end up in your bowl, not all over your counter.
What is your favorite recipe that uses fresh corn, as an ingredient? I’m looking for more incentive to buy a Corn Zipper of my very own.

National Hot Dog Month
Summertime is hot dog time. In fact, July is National Hot Dog Month. Billions of hot dogs are consumed in June, July and August, alone. With all of the sauces and condiments readily available, for your dogs, they are truly ‘fun on a bun’.
On average, a hot dog is consumed in 6.1 bites. The most popular topper among adults is mustard. Kids, on the other hand, vote for ketchup. Surveys indicate that most Americans prefer their hot dogs grilled.
Many people view the hot dog as a very unhealthy dish. Be that as it may, they have the approval of both Weight Watchers and NASA. Who would have thought that wieners would one day make it to the moon!
Cary Grant, Al Capone, Marlene Dietrich and Babe Ruth all adored hot dogs and dined on them frequently. Marlene preferred hers with champagne, while The Babe washed his down with his favorite brand of soda… between double headers.
Speaking of ball parks, now you can recreate the feel of the park at home, with the Old Fashioned Hot Dog Roller with Grill Pan (from Nostalgia Electrics). It’s pretty darn nifty, if you ask me.
It grills 8 regular or 4 foot long dogs, at once. There is a bun warmer conveniently located, in the canopy.
What is your favorite hot dog topping? I’m partial to coney sauce or cheese and bacon. YUM!

French Bull Tableware
I want French Bull Tableware! I ran across these groovy dishes the other day and immediately added them to my wish list… which magically grows longer, by the day. (Don’t tell anyone!)
As I get older, I’m more attracted to retro themes. So, this colorful tableware fits right in with my wants and needs. Since it’s manufactured out of Melamine, it’s great for indoor AND outdoor use, alike.
These nifty dishes are very durable and definitely kid-proof. They are shatterproof and resistant to high heat.
French Bull, the company, debuted in 2002. It offered a tried and true product (Melamine) with an entirely new twist. Bold color and striking patterns now replaced simple design, making this updated product a big hit.
The wide variety of available colors and patterns makes it very each to mix and match these pieces. (Say good-bye to your boring table!) Whether you need place settings, serving platters, bowls, flatware or even a sippy cup or cake server… French Bull can accommodate.
All of these French Bull Tableware pieces are VERY affordable and will last forever. They make great shower gifts and are perfect for your kids who are going off to college.
Are you familiar with the durability and convenience of Melamine? Feel free to share your comments, below.

Griddle-Q
Summer is here. That means grilling season is in full swing. If you are looking for a great way to get the most out of your grill, consider the Griddle-Q. It is available in two convenient sizes and will work with any gas grill.
The larger size is 21 x 13-1/2 x 4. The Griddle-Q Jr. is 12 x 13-1/2 x 4. The smaller size is perfect, for camping trips and tailgate parties… an ideal accompaniment for your compact grill.
The Griddle-Q is constructed from heavy gauge stainless steel and performs as well as a restaurant quality grill. Clean-up is a breeze. Simply clean the Griddle-Q while it is still sitting on the grill, using the high temperature scrubber and scraper. (Both of these handy tools come with the griddle and are dishwasher safe.)
Use the Griddle-Q to satisfy any craving. Prepare everything from eggs to yummy sandwiches to grilled veggies and hamburger toppings to bacon to stir-fry and much more! You can even bake cookies or veal parmesan and are only limited by your imagination.
A built-in grease well prevents flare ups and allows you to prepare healthier meals without any extra work.

The Ultimate Bisquick Cookbook
I just purchased The Ultimate Bisquick Cookbook. After thumbing through it, for the first time, I wholeheartedly give it 5 stars!
I’ve always loved baking with Bisquick. Several years ago, I actually went through an ‘impossible pie’ phase… where I think I tried every variation of the original recipe that I could get my hands on. (The original recipe made its debut in the early 70s.)
To date, this new edition is the biggest (and best) Bisquick cookbook ever published. It features hundreds of wonderful recipes, including over 280 new ones. My favorites tend to be back of the box recipes, which go all the way back to the 1930s.
The Ultimate Bisquick Cookbook is a must for those who are struggling to learn how to make perfect pancakes, biscuits, dumplings, muffins and short cakes.
There are over 100 color photos and even a brief product history, explaining how this versatile baking mix came to be. Did you know that it was created in 1931? That’s a lot of pancakes, in my book!
Whether you are in need of a hearty breakfast dish, a savory suppertime comfort food, pizza with pizzazz or a yummy dessert, you will find it in this cookbook. Honestly, I haven’t run across a single recipe that sounds unappealing.
Do you bake with Bisquick? Feel free to tell us about your favorite recipe.

Edge Brownie Pan
Typically, when I bake anything in a 13×9 pan, the edge pieces are the first to be devoured. OK, so I’m an edge girl… what can I say? (Some people might say I’m OVER the edge, but I’ll save that for another day.)
That being said, I can honestly say that my edge brownie pan is a dream come true. As you can see, from the photo, you get crunchy edges in every piece. What an ingenious idea!
This pan is well worth the investment. It is made out of heavy weight cast aluminum… definitely not a chintzy piece of bakeware. The edge pan is non-stick and features easy grip handles.
The GREATEST thing about this pan is the fact that it isn’t just for brownies. You can use it for virtually anything… lasagna, macaroni and cheese, Shepard’s pie, bar cookies, cobbler, corn bread… you name it!
If you are using any type of boxed mix, the pan will accommodate either a 9×9 or 9×13 size. Obviously the same is true when you are whipping up a recipe from scratch.
The walls of the edge brownie pan have been designed to circulate air evenly. This means perfectly baked brownies without gooey middles and burnt edges.
Would you use this pan for a recipe other than brownies? If so, feel free to post it here.
