Jean Leblanc Nut Oils
Man, do I want these! (I hope Santa is reading this.) All I can say is YUM!
This economy set of Jean Leblanc Nut Oils consists of five 8 ounce bottles. Flavors include: hazelnut, walnut, truffle, walnut and pistachio. Other flavors are available separately.
I did a bit of research on this company and found that it has a very interesting history. Founded in 1878, by Huilerie J. Leblanc, it continues to be responsible for making the highest quality nut oils in the world.
Leblanc manufactures small batches of these yummy oils, beginning the process with only 54 pounds of premium nuts. These nuts are ground into a paste, in the original mill.
The paste (resembling peanut butter) is roasted and transferred to a press. It is pressed under 22,000 pounds of pressure, resulting in this delicious oil.
The oil sits for a period of 1 to 2 weeks, allowing any sediment to settle. It is then strained and bottled.
If you have had the pleasure to cook with ANY of these oils, please share your thought with us. There are SO many things you can do with it. Just think of the wonderful homemade salads dressing you could create.

5 Piece Nesting Bowl Set
If you will be doing lots of holiday entertaining, now is a good time to inventory your bowl collection. You can never have too many bowls, this time of year… especially festive looking ones. (And no… recycled butter bowls don’t count!)
This 5 Piece Multi-Color Nesting Bowl Set, by Precidio, is great to have on hand when extra serving vessels are needed. They are perfect for those who have little storage space and can be used as mixing bowls, as well. Hint: think gift giving.
The bowls are made from, ever popular, melamine. That makes them dishwasher safe, break resistant and very lightweight.
What I like most about them is that they are somewhat oval in shape and quite colorful… red, blue, yellow, green and purple.
Sizes include a generous 28 oz., 53 oz., 90 oz., 142 oz. and 214 oz bowl. (Can you say party mix?)
If these specific colors don’t thrill you, there are other color combinations available. I even found a set in pretty natural tones.
I ask you… what goes better with a new bowl than a yummy holiday snack? Feel free to post your family favorite, below. I’m always on the lookout for a tasty snack recipe.

Monkey Bread Baking Mold
If you are a fan of monkey bread (and who isn’t?) have I got a baking mold for you! This groovy little piece of bakeware looks a whole lot like a Bundt pan… only taller.
It’s crafted of stoneware and has a 2 quart capacity. The Monkey Bread Baking Mold is both scratch and stick resistant, which means easy clean up.
If you do a recipe search, you will find many variations of this yummy bread. It’s been around for awhile… and still a fun dessert for the younger crowd to prepare (with the help of Mom or Dad, of course).
The following recipe calls for the use of a traditional Bundt pan, but I have no doubt that it would work with the mold, as well.
Ingredients include: frozen cinnamon rolls, caramel topping, butter and pecans. YUM! So it’s much quicker to whip up than the original recipe. (It will take a bit longer, though, if you use rolls that require time to rise.)
If you decide to try this recipe, before I have the chance, please come back and post your review for all of us.
I really think it would make a good ‘take-along’ dish for your next holiday party. Don’t you?

Progressive International Tower Slicer
I like the compact look of the Progressive International Tower Slicer. It measures 5.1 x 5.6 x 7 and produces almost perfect ¼ inch slices… or so say the product reviewers.
This slicer quickly does a more than adequate job on, both, fruits and veggies. Potatoes, carrots, oranges, lemons, onions, tomatoes and cucumbers have all met their match. I’m thinking that this would probably work on sturdy cheeses, as well.
After you insert the blade, you place whatever you are going to cut on the blade insert. Next, you position the lid (complete with pusher) and press down firmly. What you end up with is eleven equal fruit or veggie slices. Pretty nifty!
I’m sad to report that my Vidalia Chopper was recently laid to rest. Suffice it to say that my hubby doesn’t own his own strength…
So, I am considering this is a probable replacement. The price is right and it will take up very little space. (Space, or the lack of it, is a big issue at my house.)
Do you own a chopper that you can’t live without? What do you think of this one? I’d love to know your thoughts. They might help me with my final buying decision.

Adjustable Measuring Cups
I’ve used an adjustable measuring cup for years. It’s not something that I need every day, but it comes in handy for a lot of ‘sticky’ ingredients.
Compared to mine, the Kitchenart Pro 2 Cup Adjust-A-Cup adjustable measuring cup is an upgraded model. It matches all of the black and stainless steel appliances that are so popular today.
(My cup is sunshine yellow. I shudder to think how matching appliances would look, in my kitchen!)
Adjustable measuring cups slide apart, very easily, as two separate cylinders. They are dishwasher safe and super durable.
I basically use mine to measure ingredients like peanut butter, honey, yogurt, molasses, butter, etc. But, in reality, you can use it to measure just about EVERYTHING.
With the holiday season upon us, this is a must-have item. Since it will allow you to spend less time washing out ‘goopy’ measuring cups… you’ll have time to make extra batches of cookies.
(Kids think this type of measuring cup is great fun. When my son was little, he loved to push ingredients into our mixing bowl.)
If you have experience using one of these, I welcome your comments. I’m curious as to whether or not you think it’s as handy as I do.
