Smokin’ Joe Jones Hot Wing BBQ Sauce

hot_wing_sauce.jpgIf you listen closely, you can hear the hum of the upcoming Super Bowl in the air. That being said there is no better time to start planning your party or game day menu. (Remember, you don’t have to throw a party in order to eat like a king.)

Let’s face it; hot wings are a Super Bowl tradition. They are relatively inexpensive to make, when compared to other dishes and can be prepared in countless ways. The secret is in the sauce!

This year, my husband wants to try Smokin’ Joe Jones Hot Wing BBQ Sauce. Needless to say, he likes it HOT.

This particular brand of sauce is a 60 year old family secret. It’s loaded with tasty ingredients including tomatoes, garlic, wild honey, onions and carefully selected herbs and spices.

The hot variety (shown in picture) contains additional cayenne and black peppers, for that extra fiery zing. It can be used as a basted-on BBQ sauce, dipping sauce, tenderizer or marinade.

Smokin’ Joe Jones hot sauce is very versatile, delicious on pork, chicken, steak and even fish.

You will be happy to note that it contains no fat, cholesterol or MSG. It is low sodium and gluten free, as well.

George Forman Grill

george_foreman.jpgMy mother-in-law recently gave us a George Forman Grill. It sat in the cupboard a couple of weeks, until I decided to give it a permanent home on the counter. You know the old saying, ‘out of sight, out of mind’…

I use it at least three times a week, now. I can honestly say that I’m quite happy with its performance. I’ve made hamburgers that turned out great and they only took a few minutes, from start to finish. (You do have to keep an eye on them though; otherwise you might end up will a drier burger than you are used to. They cook VERY quickly.)

I have also thin sliced both good quality steak and boneless chicken breast and prepared it on the George Forman Grill. I freeze it in small packages and use it in dishes such as fajitas and salad.

I’ve grilled a variety of vegetables, with success. My mushrooms and pepper strips have turned out very tasty. I’ve read that some creative grillers have had success with corn on the cob. I have yet to try it.

Hot dogs turn out almost as yummy as if they were cooked on a traditional grill. Butter the inside of your bun and grill that, as well, for even better results.

If you have a George Forman Grill, feel free to share your thoughts about the product, here.

Griddle-Q

griddleq.jpgSummer is here. That means grilling season is in full swing. If you are looking for a great way to get the most out of your grill, consider the Griddle-Q. It is available in two convenient sizes and will work with any gas grill.

The larger size is 21 x 13-1/2 x 4. The Griddle-Q Jr. is 12 x 13-1/2 x 4. The smaller size is perfect, for camping trips and tailgate parties… an ideal accompaniment for your compact grill.

The Griddle-Q is constructed from heavy gauge stainless steel and performs as well as a restaurant quality grill. Clean-up is a breeze. Simply clean the Griddle-Q while it is still sitting on the grill, using the high temperature scrubber and scraper. (Both of these handy tools come with the griddle and are dishwasher safe.)

Use the Griddle-Q to satisfy any craving. Prepare everything from eggs to yummy sandwiches to grilled veggies and hamburger toppings to bacon to stir-fry and much more! You can even bake cookies or veal parmesan and are only limited by your imagination.

A built-in grease well prevents flare ups and allows you to prepare healthier meals without any extra work.
