No wardrobe is complete without a ridiculously large sun hat. Combined with some face swallowing sun glasses… you might as well carry around an Academy Award while you’re at it. I was in Las Vegas this past weekend and I loved all of the fabulous hats I saw by the pool. Even my friend (who is a man that knows nothing about fashion) commented on how beautiful women look in hats. Not only are hats wonderful for blocking your face from the harmful rays of the sun, but it’s kind of fun getting the, “who is she?” second glances from people on the street. I got so much use out of my wide-brimmed Eric Javitz sun-hat while vacationing on the Italian island of Capri. Amongst the extravagant yachts and tan, beautiful Italians, nothing says “I belong here” more than a fabulous wide-brimmed hat. I would throw my shirt-dress over my bathing suit with chunky gold earrings and some wedges, to get that swanky poolside look. I suggest you take a sun hat with you during your summer travels. Having trouble packing it? Try flipping the hat upside down and filling the cap with lingerie. Surround the brim with socks and t-shirts to keep it from getting mangled. There are also hats that can you can fold up for easy packing.
