Blog Inspiration

Last weekend, my roommate and I decided to go out for sushi and drinks. As we clacked down the street in our heels, we noticed about two blocks down that we were almost wearing the exact same thing! We had been so influenced by each other’s fashion choices that we had unknowingly dressed alike. Although this was a tad embarrassing, it allowed me to realize how much our contemporaries influence our fashion choices. Social networking sites and personal blogs are a great way to gain fashion inspiration. We are all the masters of our own wardrobes and the designers of our own personal fall, winter, and spring collections. Putting together an outfit is just as important as designing one, in many cases. We are provided with the ingredients from certain designers, but we decide which ones we are going to use, and how we are going to use them. There are some people who have a way of putting together clothing that is unique and inventive, so what’s the harm in taking some ideas from them? Isn’t imitation the most sincere form of flattery?

New York socialite and fashionista Lara “Pia” Arrobio has a style all of her own. Her blog features the latest in New York style and culture. Although many designers inspire “Pia” she manipulates the latest trends to conjure up a look that is truly unique. Pia’s style would be described by many as vintage chic. The floral print dress and delicate chiffon baby doll tee below are just some of the many pieces exhibited through a photographic journal on her website.
