I Don’t Care What My Teacher Says, I’m Gonna Be a Supermodel

Fashionista has discovered a great video of Stephanie Seymour’s 1994 “girls only” engagement party. Sounds pretty tame, but when you are Stephanie Seymour, your “girls” are Kate, Janice, Naomi, Claudia, Helena and Christy. In the supermodel era of the 1990’s these women were a powerhouse that ruled the catwalks and fashion magazines, replacing actresses as symbols of beauty, luxury and wealth. While the last couple decades were taken back by pop- singers and actresses who landed most advertising campaigns and magazine covers, the supermodel is slowly making a comeback, and these ladies aren’t missing out. Christy Turlington is posing for Escada, Claudia Schiffer for Ferragamo and Chanel, Naomi Campbell for Yves Saint Laurent, Eva Herzigova for Louis Vuitton, Linda Evangelista for Prada, Stephanie Seymour for Loewe and Kate Moss’ has booked, well, just about everything else. So while you can check them out in just about any fashion magazine on stands today, I think this video is a lot of fun.

I can’t help but feel like this video should be set to George Michael’s “Freedom”, but then again, we might miss Kate announcing she is drinking “vodka… straight up”. Of course she is.
