A Fashionable Life
Sofia Coppola is no stranger to the wonderful world of fashion, she counts Marc Jacobs as a bff, interned at Chanel, her movies are worth watching just for the sartorial choices (and soundtracks, but that is a whole different post), and she has a clothing line Milkfed, which is sold exclusively in Japan. This month, however, she has been in the fashion news quite a lot. First, it was announced that Sofia has been working on a capsule collection for Louis Vuitton which will be available in stores worldwide this spring. Does this foray suggest that she may be throwing around the idea of a full-time fashion career? “Fashion is something I enjoy and like - but it is not the focus,” says Coppola. True to her word, the fashion news I stumbled upon today has her back in the directors chair… for an upcoming Miss Dior Cherie campaign (no conflict of interest as LVMH owns both brands). The ads feature Maryna Linchuk and the print version (the video isn’t available for months) is absolutely adorable. Something about the balloons makes me very happy and the back-drop reminds me of my favorite Sofia Coppola guilty pleasure- the decadent, pastel, sweet-tooth inducing, and great soundtrack having- Marie Antoinette.
Unfortunately, the balloons are sold separately, but the adorable Miss Dior Cherie perfume bottle pretty much makes up for it.
