Organic Cotton for Toys

We all know that babies love to teethe. Everything from toys to toes end up in a baby’s mouth. Let them chew, but beware not all toys are safe for little mouths. Soft plastic and vinyl baby toys can contain harmful toxins and chemical compounds, such as PVC and phthalates esters. Persistent toy chewing and gnawing can cause the toxins to end up in an infant’s blood stream and eventually their liver, kidneys, lungs and budding reproductive system. It is always better to consider organic toys for your baby. I am a big fan of the organic cotton company, Under the Nile.

Under the Nile manufactures organic infant and children’s apparel, toys blankets and other accessories from 100% organic Egyptian cotton, produced in an environmentally friendly manner and affordable to most everyone. All products are made from 100% handpicked organic cotton, without the use of pesticides or chemicals throughout the entire production process. Grown exclusively in Egypt, this ensures the extremely soft and durable features that Egyptian cotton is known for. Under the Nile’s dyeing process uses metal-free or vegetable dyes. Accessories such as buttons and zippers are made of organically friendly elements such as wood, shell or nickel-free metals. All Under the Nile products are produced on a farmers’ cooperative in Egypt therefore supporting organic farming and fair trade
