Reading in Style with Sony Digital Reader
I love to read! It’s relaxing and refreshing to read a good story. I will admit to lugging around my Harry Potter books until I read every single word of them front to back. But, sometimes carrying a big novel sized book can be a little bit awkward. You want something that you can toss in your purse or bag and just go with the flow of your day instead of something that is going to weigh you down and make your shoulder tired all day long.
Check out the Sont Digital Reader. You can upload all your favorite books and take them with you wherever you go. No tote or backpack required! Perfect for travel or if you like to read more than one book at a time. It’s slim and lightweight and won’t get in your way. Available in dark blue or silver.

Keep It Clean
LCD screens are taking over our technology space. Think about where you have them for a moment. Your desktop computer. Your laptop computer. How about your television? Maybe your PDA? How about that shiny new Blackberry?
It’s important to clean your LCD screens properly, otherwise you could damage them. If you apply too much pressure or use just any old rag to clean your screen you’re going to end up with a scratches and possibly broken pixels.
So do your screen a favor and pick up a screen cleaning kit. Remember never to spray anything directly onto the screen. Use a screen cleaner or specialized cloth, not tissues. And whatever you do, please put those paper towels back in the kitchen where they belong!

Get Out of My Ear
If you’ve got an iPod or an MP3 player of any kind chances are you’ve got a pair of those little white or black earbuds that come standard with all of them. They have become increasingly popular, and they come in all sorts of colors now to match your iPod. But, not everyone likes to stick things in their ear.
I recently had the experience of shopping for MP3 compatible headphones that go over your ear instead of in your ear. Let me say that this was not an easy task at all. We started off our trip at an electronics store my son had a gift card for, and they had one single choice for him in an over the ear style headphone. We asked the “helpful” store associate if there were any other over the ear headphones available and he pointed us toward the computer section where you can buy the big Bose sound studio style noise canceling padded headsets, and to stereo and sounds where you could buy more of the same. I explained to Mr. Helpful that we wanted small headphones for my son to use with his iPod, but that he wanted something that didn’t go in his ear. Mr. Helpful’s only response was a puzzled expression and, “Why?”
So, of course we poked around a few more shops. More of the same. I told my son if he gave me a few days I’d find him some online. I expected this to be a difficult task , but it was surprisingly easy! Lots of companies make nice, compact earphone designs that do not go inside your ear. Sony, Phillips, and many, many more.
I was actually surprised how many styles I found online that go over your ear instead of in your ear. I don’t understand why the brick and mortar stores don’t carry more of them really. So, if you’re like us and don’t like things poking in your ear I’d love to hear your earphone shopping stories too. Why do you think stores (and people) are favoring the in ear styles?

Is Your Wii Fit?
The Wii Fit came out this week. If you’ve been on the internet at all the past few days you’ve probably read millions of great reviews. I’m sure I’d be giving you another great review if I had managed to snag one of those little beauties myself. Of course supplies of the Wii Fit are limited, just as the supply of Wii game consoles is limited. It’s hard to believe that Wii has been around for around a year now.
So, if I’m not here to give you another beautiful, great, shining review of the Wii Fit, then what am I here to tell you? While I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed working out doing the hula hoop or perfecting my tree pose in the yoga portion of the game, I can tell you that I haven’t read any bad reviews of the Wii Fit since it was released. Not a single bad review. To me that says a lot for what the Wii Fit is doing for people. It’s getting them moving and having fun doing it. And that’s not half bad. If you’re out there getting fit with your Wii this weekend, kudos to you and I’d love to hear about it.

Waterproof iPod Case for the Beach or Pool
Just add your iPod to the Ego Sound Case will float on the water and play your tunes from waterproof speakers. Great for the beach or the pool this summer. Or even as a precaution if you’re toting your iPod around at an amusement park like Busch Gardens this summer. You might just want to hop on a water ride and this way your gear is protected without having to pay 3 dollars for a tiny locker to put your iPod in for 30 minutes.
Using the waterproof casing does have it’s downside. For starters, it doesn’t include a remote, so if it’s floating at a distance from you or at the side of the pool and you want to change the song or turn up the volume, you’ve got to swim on over there. Also, the integrated speakers are lacking in bass just a tad, so it might not have the quality sound you’re used to hearing from your iPod.

Exercise Your Brain and Have Some Fun
I know you might not think of this as a necessary piece of technology to toss in your bag on your way out the door. But, for many the Nintendo DS is becoming as much a part of their daily routine as their cellphone or blackberry. Think about your long boring ride to work on the bus or train. The last time I was on the bus and I pulled out my crochet bag, people gave me funny looks. The DS looks a lot like a palm pilot, so you don’t get those weird people asking you what you’re doing. And it takes up a lot less room than a novel or a craft project. Even Nicole Kidman plays Brain Age on Nintendo DS!
Of course the Nintendo DS Lite comes in quite a few colors and there are plenty of games out there to pick from, including the popular Brain Age game inspired by the work of prominent Japanese neuroscientist Dr. Ryuta Kawashima. It even comes in Crimson Red to match your bluetooth, cell phone, and blackberry.
Have fun.

Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router
The Linksys Wireless-G Router allows you to connect four computers into one box for easy access to your DSL or cable high speed Internet. This router also allows you to connect Wireless-G or Wireless-B devices to your network giving you more options than similar routers.
Looking for a way to connect all my family’s computers together was not an easy task. Among us we have several computers that are in use on a daily basis. There are so many different routers out there that finding the right one takes time and a lot of frustration. One of my reasons for picking this router is because it has wireless capability. I can place it anywhere in my home office and don’t have to run wires along the ceiling or under the carpet. Another reason was the price, it wasn’t as expensive as I was afraid of, but does more than enough for what I need it for.
This router has an excellent range for the size of our home. My family has computers in a couple of different rooms including laptops and we have had no problem with the connection using this router. I also like the fact that I could install my printer for use by everyone to use. Not only can we share the Internet connection and the printer but also files and games. This makes it easy for everyone in the house to enjoy his or her computer without having to save files to a thumb drive and take it to the main desktop computer to print them out. This way it’s hassle free, just hit print and go!

Working Comfortably
The past few days I haven’t been feeling well, but I work from home so I have a slight advantage in that I didn’t need to miss work. Even working from home there are a few obstacles to overcome when you’re not feeling 100 percent. The biggest of those obstacles would be getting comfortable and resting like you’re supposed to.
Fortunately there are easy solutions to fix this! One of course, your laptop with wireless internet goes anywhere. You can stay in bed in your pajamas and work while resting. Of course if you’re going to do this I highly recommend having a laptop stand or cart with adjustable height that you can keep the laptop on, otherwise it’s just hard to get truly comfortable. It’s also a good spot to put your cup of tea so that you’re not knocking it over every time you sit up. Not that I’ve done that or anything…. okay, maybe I have but only once.
