Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote
This is not your ordinary universal remote. This is the Queen of remote controls and controls up to 15 different devices in your home. I don’t think I even have that many things that are remote controlled right now in my home.
Instead of sifting a list of number and letter combination codes to try to get your universal remote working, this remote comes with it’s own software that you run on your computer (works on PC or MAC!) This amazing little bit of software will configure the remote control for you, and this smart little number can actually learn from the remotes that are already cluttering up your coffee table.
In addition to smart configuration, this remote is so smart you can tell it which TV channels are your favorite and it will remember. It’s like speed dial for channel surfers. Just remember to put it in the recharge cradle every night for fresh surfing in the morning. A hard working remote needs a good night’s rest too.
If you’re like me and tend to watch TV late at night, in the dark, the Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote is backlit for easy button finding. And the full-color touch screen literally leaves everything at the touch of your fingertip.
If all that isn’t enough this remote has actually received the CES 2008 Design and Engineering Award: Best of Innovations in Home-Entertainment Accessories. It could possibly be the sexiest remote on the planet.

Teeny Tiny Picture Taker from Fuji
I love to take my camera with me when we go out. Of course the problem with that is that my camera takes up half my bag and it’s not always the most conveinant thing to carry around. It does take fabulous pictures though.
1So, with all our day trips and place the kids like to go, and for those times when you unexpectedly need a camera to snap a picture it’s helpful to have a smaller camera that still takes a decent picture. It might not the 8 megapixel, multifeatured wonder that my regular camera is, but the Fuji FinePix V10 still has some great qualities about it and the pictures aren’t half bad.
This tiny wonder of a camera comes in black or orange casing styles and has 5.1MP image resolution and sensitivity up to ISO 1600. And oddly enough along with all the little picture taking details this camera has games on it? I thought that was odd, but still interesting. I’m not sure how often I would use the game feature, but it never hurts to have a video game around when you’re stuck in traffic or waiting in line.
Fuji’s Real Photo Technology helps remove the blurry factor or the the grainy look from the pictures you take and gives you the sharpest, most focused picture it can give you. Of course the quality of picture is going to also depend on the lighting, and photo subject too.
As my friend Richard points out, reviews on this camera were pretty mixed by camera lovers.
Reviews on this camera were a mixed bag, some reviewers complimented the V10’s performance, and some disliked it very much. It is available now for about $189.95 - $344.11.

Is it Still a Man’s World?
I like to think that it’s more of a woman’s world these days, we make most of the ground breaking decisions. But, some times I’m reminded that it seems to still be a man’s world after all. The New York Times recently published an article titled “Blogging’s Glass Ceiling” about women in blogging and on the internet.
Where would you expect to find this article in your newspaper? The technology section? What’s going on section? Maybe the business section? No, no, my technologically advanced friends, this article was in the Style section… aka the fashion and fluff section of the paper.
Now, I’m not saying that section of the paper isn’t great, it is great, but for different reasons. If I’m browsing the Style section of the paper I am not looking for business topics anymore than I want to read about purse buying trends in the business and news section of my paper. The two really are not interchangeable and that suggests to me that the Times just didn’t have much respect for women online today.
A lot of the article makes reference to the recent BlogHer conference, which sadly I wasn’t able to attend this year. Hopefully next year I’ll be able to plan better so that I can attend more conferences. The article even comments about how women are saying they aren’t being taken seriously in this internet business world. Small details like this are why, for some reason the public can’t get past the stereotype of a mom sitting at home eating bon bons and watching soap operas after she cleans the house.
In my day to day business world women are empowered, we rule the internet on every level, including those that were once dominated by men. We work from home, get in our 8 to 10 hours and still make it to our kids baseball game on time. We can be both a business woman and a mom, and we’re proud of both. We’ve adapted and broken free of those stereotypical roles that working in an office often throws at us. And we used our shiny red PDA to keep it all organized.
What are your thoughts here? Do you think women are more dominant online than offline? Do you think mommy blogging is over rated? (Don’t worry I won’t be offended -lol- I can take the heat.) I’d love to hear from some of you on this topic.

Who Said GPS Had to be Boring?
Pharos made this GPS system both easy to use and helped ensure that your boyfriend won’t snag it and toss it in his own car for the weekend. It’s nice to see gadget makers realize that girls use just as much, if not more technology than guys in our daily lives. Not everything has to be boring black and white all the time. It doesn’t hurt to add a splash of color to your latest technology fueled creation.
I used a bigger picture than usual for this GPS system, because I wanted you to see one of the menu screens and how easy to use the product really is. Voice prompts and turn-by-turn audio directions that include name of the street or highway make getting there a breeze, (even if you’re like me with no sense of direction.) The large 3.5″ color touch screen LCD clearly displays the preloaded U.S. street level maps and navigation routing so you can see and hear where you’re going.

Belkin Messenger Bag Laptop Bag
Another classically styled messenger bag on our never ending shopping trip for great bags. Belkin makes messenger style laptop bags in a lot of size and color combinations, but here I’ve pictured the 15.4″ in Brown and Blue.
I love this color combination since it matches just about everything. It manages to be neutral without being boring. And what’s even better about this bag is you have all the comfort of a lightweight laptop carrying bag with the features and capacity of a much bulkier bag. There’s plenty of places to store your tech away with your laptop.
This bag was designed to help you stay organized and get all your gadgets there in one piece safely. There’s room and pockets for MP3 players, cell phones, business cards, pens, and all your other accessories. And a separate pouch tucks away your power adapter and cables for later use.
If all the features of this bag don’t have you convinced yet, the bag is also supported by Belkin’s Lifetime Warranty.

Pepper Pad 3
We spend so much time on our computers that it’s no wonder we are looking for solutions to take them with us everywhere we go. Portable data is the way of the world. My laptop and I are inseparable most of the time. If you have a BlackBerry or an iPhone you know how much data you can carry on just an itty bitty little cell phone, it’s truly amazing the advancements we’ve made in this area. For an even simpler solution you can download all your information onto a flash drive and take it with you anywhere you go, plug it into a computer and get the information you need.
For those of us that want something between a laptop and a cell phone full of pictures, there are these amazing little portable computers. The Pepper Pad 3 is full of features that allow you to surf, shop, browse etc…. All the things you like to do online in a smaller package that your laptop. The biggest benefit here is size, it’s much more portable than even the slimmest notebook computer. It fits into your purse instead of needing an entire laptop bag. And it’s functions are a little more than your typical data filled phone solution.
- Seven inch color display with touch screen for beautiful photos, videos and Web pages
- Bluetooth 2.0 device support for use with a full-size keyboard and/or mouse
- 20 GB disk drive, that’s hundreds of photos and videos you can store
- Rechargeable lithium batteries plus smart power management
Pepper Pad’s seven inch screen allows you to view full-width Web pages and watch full-screen videos unlike many of the portable devices you’ll find in it’s price range with similar features. I was delighted to find that you can download and read eBooks, play pre-loaded games right out of the box, no special plugins or extra space needed.

Verge Messenger Bag in Red

I’ve already mentioned my love of interesting bags, especially laptop bags. It’s funny to people that have known me a long time, because they know I have always hated to carry a purse. In fact, in high school I carried a lunch box instead of a normal purse, because I was so anti-purse, but still needed something other than my backpack to put stuff in. For the record it was much easier to toss a paperback book into a lunchbox, the pages didn’t get all smooshed and messed up.
Anyhow, time to get to the point. I was thinking about topics and things that I would like to write about here at TechStyle. I decided that on Sundays, starting today of course, I would feature an interesting bag that’s designed to carry your tech. And for these first few I’m actually sort of shopping around, I need a new laptop bag myself before I go on a trip next month.
Today’s featured bag is a messenger style bag by Verge.
“This durable messenger bag features five interior storage pockets with zipper and velcro closures. It also has a rear pocket and adjustable shoulder strap to provide extra comfort. The dual buckles secure your notebook and other valuables. This case fits most notebooks with screens up to 15″.”
I love the messenger style laptop bags. It’s always nice to have a bag that you can actually sling over your shoulder and keep a hand free. And red of course is a popular tech color right now, so your bag might just match your cellphone, your blackberry, your bluetooth, or if you’re lucky your laptop (or laptop skin.)
I’ll be back again next weekend with a cool bag for you to carry your tech around town in. ![]()

Mstation Stereo Orb - Shiny and Pink
M Station makes all sorts of cool gadgets and accessories, but the Orb caught my eye. It’s smooth sleekness is quite attractive on the dresser or desk, and it comes in all the Nano 2nd gen colors, including the special edition red.
It always makes me very happy to see that version, because that is the iPod I bought for my husband and a lot accessories aren’t made to match the product RED version. Pink is shown here, they also have the turquoise, green, black, white, and silver colors available.
These cute little spheres of iPod power are about 8 inches around and a great alternative to a standard iPod docking station. You can sync to iTunes, charge up, and listen in. The handy little color coordinated remote lets you skip songs, go back, and make selections from across the room. A great feature if you like to listen to music while hanging out with friends at home, or even while multitasking around your office.
“Made for iPod” Desktop Docking Station/ Speaker System packs a powerful ing Bass that only a Dedicated Subwoofer can produce. Every Orb includes a 10 Key Remote that allows you to navigate within Playlists from a distance, as well as adjust the Volume ±, Bass and Treble

Cellet Apple iphone & Blackberry 8300 Purple Noble Case
I know that the hot and popular colors right now for tech and accessories are red and black, but I have a confession to make …. purple is my favorite tech color. I love it when I see a gadget or accessory that comes in purple. I don’t know what it is about the color that just makes me happy.
I saw these Cellet cases recently and thought they were cute and useful, and very happy to see that purple was a color option available. These are made to fit exact models, shapes, and sizes of phone and Blackberry. The one pictured here is made to fit Apple iphone or Blackberry 8300, both popular cell choices right now. The custom snug fit helps to better protect your phone.
