Low Tech Way to Make Your Cellphone Unique
We’ve been going over some fun and easy ways to make your cellphone stand out from the crowd. This is actually one of my favorite ways to do add some pizazz to anything. I suppose I’m a kid at heart that way. I’m talking about stickers of course.
I was one of those kids with tons of sticker albums full of different kinds of stickers. Glittery stickers, scratch and sniff stickers that were supposed to be different scents even though they all smelled like a mix of old bubble gum and plastic, and of course puffy stickers were like gold! Then there was the ever rare gel gooey full of stuff stickers. No one knew what was really inside those shimmer globs that reminded you of miniature lava lamps, and it’s probably better not to know.
For your cell phone you’ll want something a little more grown up …. unless you’re young at heart and want fairies and unicorns stuck all over everything. Or maybe you’re a guy and you don’t want anything purple or puffy any where near your cellphone. I would suggest getting the rhinestone stickers.
They’re not really “stickers” in the sense that you might think. They’re more like tattoos for your stuff. You can get them in designs, shapes, names, letters, monograms or you can get a plain sheet of single rhinestones and make your own creation. Use your imagination.
Having your name studded out on your cellphone should definitely eliminate any confusion at work. Unless of course your name is Jennifer and you work with three other girls named Jennifer.
Initials are always a good option ![]()

Fun and Funky Cell Phone Charms
Adding a cellphone charm is one of the fun and easy ways to inexpensively make your cellphone stand out from the crowd. You can get something cute and fun like this dragonfly and flower cell charm, or you can go a little bolder and get some big bling on your phone.
Styles range from handmade beaded charms, knitted tassels, gemstone charms, initial charms, and even photo charms. It’s basically just jewelry for your cellphone. But it doesn’t just look pretty, it can be quite functional. We were discussing in a previous post how it can often be difficult to distinguish your phones from friends and coworkers when you have the same model of phone.
Adding a charm can help with this in a flash. You can even get a few charms and change them around just like you would your earrings to match your mood or outfit. Some people have more two or three charms on their cellphone for even more individuality. Personally I wouldn’t go with more than two, because they can get in the way sometimes depending on how long they are.

Give Your Cell Phone a Facelift with a Faceplate
Cellphones come in a much bigger selection of styles and colors than before, but sometimes you just need that little extra. One of the things you can do to jazz up your cell phone to match your unique style is to add a faceplate. It’s quick, easy, painless and inexpensive to do.
Most faceplates just snap on, so you can actually grab a few and change them around now and then to match your mood, or your wardrobe, for the day! A lot of the more popular cellphones will have more faceplate choices for you too. I found a lot Motorola V3 Faceplates in particular. These just pop right on and cost about 10 dollars or less on average.

And those were just a few of the fun cell phone faceplates that I found. I think I’m actually going to get the paw print one for my mom as a gift, she is obsessed with her doggies and I think she’ll like it. Her Razr is pink, but she was complaining that just about everyone she works with has a pink cell phone too, so it’s not really that unique. Set it down on a table next to someone else’s phone and it’s just a phone mix-up waiting to happen. She does have a cute little cell phone charm, but those are a topic for another day. Maybe tomorrow we’ll get into charms and cell phone bling!

SanDisk 8GB Cruzer Titanium USB Flash Drive
A flash drive is a necessity for many of us. I actually have three that I use for work myself, and my kids each have their own that they use to bring assignments home from school on. It’s one of the most useful things you’ll ever buy in addition to your computer.
This particular flash drive from SanDisk is 8GB, so there’s plenty of room for all your files. The titanium casing not only looks great, but it’s crush-resistant to over 2,000 pounds! Having had not just one, but two of my previous flash drives get broken and losing all those files, I can tell you that having a crushproof flash drive is a fantastic feature.
If 8GB is too much for you, you can get the same great features in the 4GB titanium flash drive from SanDisk. Both sizes are crush-resistant and come with SanDisk’s popular U3 smart technology, making them easy to use for managing all your files and programs. You can even use U3 to take your internet bookmarks with you. In addition to the many included features of U3 smart technology, you can go online and download add ons to make your flash drive work even smarter for you.

Polaroid PoGo Instant Mobile Printer
Cameras and photography have come a long way and Polaroid is a very familiar name in photos. It took them awhile to get on the digital bandwagon, but when they did they did so with style.
Everything else is mobile, why shouldn’t your photo printer be mobile too? We snap away with our digital cameras on a daily basis. If you’re anything like me, you probably hardly ever order prints. Sometimes I forget, sometimes I just put it off. It was probably a year after our trip to Disney World that I ordered physical prints for our photo album on the shelf. But, I had a digital album up online before we even came home! At least I remember to do that most of the time.
The Polaroid PoGo prints 2 x 3-inch borderless color images in under a minute. And the coolest part is that it does so without any messy ink cartridges! Printing is done using ZINK Zero Ink Printing Technology from ZINK Imaging.
Using your camera phone you can wirelessly transfer images from a Bluetooth-enabled camera phone to the Mobile Printer and print instantly. Using the built-in OBEX (object exchange profile) Bluetooth in the phone and the printer, connecting and printing becomes instant.
Or you can use it with your digital camera, of course. Just hook up the USB cable to the PictBridge-enabled camera and printer. Once connected, follow the PictBridge screen on the camera display. Simply select what image to send to the printer and within 60 seconds, the print is ready to be shared. Easy peasy…. and super fast. What could be better?
Perfect for sporting events, graduation parties, wedding receptions and just about any event where you want to take pictures. Print and share photos right away, no waiting until later for film to get developed, no emailing big zip files, and no waiting in line to pick up your pics at the store either.

Plantronics Discovery 640E Bluetooth Headset
My pick for today also happens to be Product of the Day here at Price Grabber, so it’s available for a fabulous price. I’ve really been looking at Bluetooth headsets more closely lately trying to determine which are the best of the best and which are just trying to look cool.
Is it too much to ask for me to want my Bluetooth headset to look minimally dorky and sound decent too? I don’t want a giant blob on the side of my face while I’m out shopping, and I don’t want the person two aisles over to hear my husband asking if I bought allergy cream or not… yeah, that’s not fun.
This Plantronics bluetooth headset gives you a sleek shiny style without looking or feeling too heavy, and gives you up to 15 hours of talk time. Weighing it at just 9 grams, it’s a lightweight bluetooth too. To extend your call time the headset comes with a small carrying case that holds a AAA battery to charge up between calls for those busy days and long business trips.

Are You Wired?
And by wired, I mean Wired Magazine, of course. The magazine all about how technology is changing the world every day.
There’s a new gizmo or gadget put to the test in every single issue. This is my favorite part of the whole magazine. I skip right to it every time, like when you were a kid and you got the Highlights magazine and skipped right to the picture find pages. They test the the hottest products on the market, from the newest HDTVs to the slimmest notebook computers, and put them through extreme tests, add a splash of entertainment, a twist of humor, and a rating scale of 1 to 10 to give you a great review.
Everything is Wired is well researched. There’s no hearsay, no gossip celebrity chatter, and no fluff. There is no popularity contest inside this magazine, it’s all about the technology and what it’s doing for the good of the world. Are you wired?

Supertooth Bluetooth Handsfree Speakerphone
Hands free is the way to go with your cell phone in the car, and if you live in California it is now the law as well. Bluetooth headsets are great, but if you don’t like having something attached to ear all the time it can be annoying. Personally, I hate having things that feel like they are going in my ear, like earbud type headphones for example.
BlueAnt recognized this need for other hands free options and came up with a great bluetooth speaker phone to use in your car. You just clip this onto your sun visor and you’re ready to go.
The Supertooth Handfree uses real-time audio to process any echo or background noise resulting in the improvement of the sound quality to give you easy to understand calls no matter if you are sitting in the parking lot or driving down the highway. I know that sounds like a bunch of advertising jargon, but it means you don’t have to shout into the microphone, and you don’t have to crank the volume on the speaker in order to have a conversation with someone, making it easily comparable to if not better than an ear style bluetooth device.

Marvel Mini Light Therapy
Beauty and technology all rolled into one, what more could a girl ask for? The Marvel Mini light therapy treatments come in different colors, and each color provides treatment for a different skin type.
The blue light therapy pictured here is one of the most popular colors sold. It’s blue light therapy that improves acne-prone skin with its purifying and antibacterial properties. The red light reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, painlessly and without piling clay and other goop on your face. And the green light is supposed to erase discoloration such as age spots or old acne scars.
The Ageless Beauty Marvel-Mini hand-held system employs light therapy technology: a non-invasive, low-level, non-thermal light energy that activates skin cells.
The colored light therapy fascinates me. I used to pay frequent visits to my dermatologist. According to the package directions you’ll receive the best results by using the light therapy on your face for only 15 minutes a day for the first four weeks, at which point you should start seeing some results. These little mini marvels (see where they got the name?) are similar to getting light treatments in a dermatology office. You can get similar results at home on your own schedule, or even on your lunch break. Toss your Mini in your purse or bag and you can easily take your light treatment with you anywhere you go.
