Apple’s Airport Wireless Card

apples airport wireless cardLooking for a fancy new wireless card to hook up to your PC or laptop? Check out the Apple Airport Card.

The Apple Airport Card is, of course, designed by Apple, insuring that it has the sleek and stylish design included with all Apple products. The device is compatible with any AirPort enabled Macintosh systems. One plus of the Apple Airport Card is it’s ease of use.

You can plug it into your Macintosh system and, within minutes, be watching videos on YouTube, talking to friends on Faceboook, or doing whatever else you do on the web. Credit on this feature goes to both the hardware and the Mac OS X operating system.

The Apple Airport Card can connect to any 802.11b (or better) wireless network. Although this isn’t the newest technology, all newer wireless network systems, such as 802.11g, are backwards compatible with this. 802.11b allows speeds up to around 11 Mbit/s, plenty of speed for surfing the web or downloading music.

Be sure that if you have a newer Macintosh system, this card is NOT compatible with systems that accept the Apple Airport Extreme Card. The Apple Airport Extreme Card is an upgrade to the Apple Airport Card. It is smaller in size and offers higher speeds. Because of the size difference, new Macintosh systems that take the Extreme card cannot use this card.

Likewise, any older Macintosh system needs to use this card, and not the Apple Airport Extreme Card. Be sure that you buy the correct card for your system. Connect your Macintosh system and surf the web from anywhere (in range to your wireless network) with the Apple Airport Card.
