Video Comparison of the Mini Computers

I came across this great video comparison of some of the most popular mini notebooks on the market right now. We’ve been talking about them a lot, and I know a mini is right at the top of my wishlist this year. I’m hoping to pick one up before I do any traveling in 2009. After much comparison shopping and research online I chose the Acer One (hopefully in blue!) as the mini to buy myself, and I was surprised to find that this video seems to verify my decision.

I thought the video really illustrated the pros and cons really well, as well as providing a visual size display. I mentioned the sizes and weights when I was comparing the minis, but seeing them lined up like this really brings it all together. 2008 brought so many great advances in computer technology, I can’t wait to see what this year holds.

    why did you not include the Dell netbook?

    The video didn’t say anything about wireless that I heard. That would be an important feature for me. I want one of these netbooks, but they just aren’t quite there yet. I want something with at least 2GBs of RAM and a 10″ screen. (so my old tired eyes can make things out on the screen!) Wireless, at least G or maybe even G + N too. When I searched those, I found 4 with 1GB RAM, 1.6Ghz for between $430 and $480. Still a little spendy for me. Maybe later this year the prices will come down a little more. I envy loretta getting hers!

    @Mark, I didn’t make the video. Sorry.

    @Ken, all the models are wireless. That’s part of the conveiniance of a mini, wireless internet connection on the go without carrying a huge laptop bag. I have seen some 10 inch size, I guess they’d be called mediums -lol-, I’ll have to go look around and see if I can find which brands made those.
