Do You Need a New Monitor?
Normally on Sunday we talk about everything and anything bags, carrying cases, and so on. I’m skipping that topic for today, because today’s Product of the Day is a great deal!
One of the best things I ever did was upgrade my monitor last year to get a 19 inch LCD. Computer headaches became a thing of the past, and I didn’t feel like a little old lady squinting at the screen anymore. It’s just so much easier to look at. When I saw the Product of the Day I knew I needed to shout it from the rooftops! It is a most excellent deal.
Right now you can get the ViewSonic Optiquest Q19wb Black 19″ Widescreen LCD Monitor for only $109. That is fantastic pricing for a great monitor. If you’ve been putting off getting a widescreen LCD, today is the day to grab one up! I’m tempted to order one for myself to finally have the dual monitor setup that I dream of. This deal lasts until 11:59 PM EST so hurry and grab yours at this great price while it lasts.
Why go widescreen? If you ever need to work on two documents at once, it’s fabulous for lining things up side by side. I’m looking at the specs for the monitor on one side of the screen, and blogging on the other side of the screen without it feeling crammed, squashed, or tiny. And with the LCD everything looks crisper, cleaner, and easier to read. It’s definitely worth every penny if you’re not already on a widescreen LCD monitor.
The ViewSonic Optiquest Q19wb Black 19″ Widescreen LCD Monitor is usually about $160, even at the great prices PriceGrabber finds for you, so this is definitely a steal of a deal at $109.

LCD monitors are great, and the wide ones even better. They also don’t weigh much and save a bunch of space!
January 13th, 2009 at 12:04 pm19″? Four years ago I bought a 22″ ($800) and two years ago bought a 30″ ($1,300) and this year Costco had the HannsG 28″ on sale for $385 shipped with a 1920×1200 native resolution and must say, I liked it so well I gave each of my employees one for Christmas for their computers at home. Needless to say, they fell in love when them the instant they hooked them up. That has to be one of the best deals out there. If you can swing the extra $, you sure can’t beat having a 28″ monitor over the 19″. I have a 4:3 19″ on the computer in the bedroom running at 1280×1024. Yes, that is less width than the 19″ws which has 1440×900 but it sure is easier to see. It doesn’t make much sense to me to cut some off the bottom of the monitor and make the fonts smaller.
January 13th, 2009 at 4:03 pmYes, if all you have is a little over $100 and don’t mind squinting at the small fonts, then the Q19wb is the way to go. But I bought the 4:3 19″ because of that reason, I don’t like to squint at small fonts.
But anytime you can go wider, it is better, but not at the expense of smaller fonts.
Ah yes, the amount of space on my desk is beautiful …. or it would be if my kids stop piling things in it.
