Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000
This handy little wireless mouse comes in a variety of colors. I chose the green, because it’s my favorite color
The Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 3000 is a practical mouse with a tiny snap receiver that will plug directly into your laptop or snaps into the mouse for easy storage.
I have two complaints with this particular mouse, so let’s get those out of the way right off the bat. It doesn’t come with a carrying case. Even though the receiver will snap into the bottom of the mouse it would be nice to have a case to put it in before I toss it in my laptop bag so that I know it’s protected and not getting bounced around too much.
Secondly, this mouse is very sensitive. This can make it a little difficult to get used to. I already have a rough time going from my desktop to my laptop. That’s part of the reason I carry a wireless mouse in the first place, it sort of eases the transition. But, this mouse is a million times more sensitive than what I’m used to and it tends to shake around the screen a bit.
The optical sensor for movement makes for better durability, speed, accuracy and performance. I have never had a problem with it freezing up or loosing the signal. I have used it on many different types of surfaces (table, chair arm, floor, my leg -lol-) and never had a problem with it. The small size makes it easy to maneuver in either your right or left hand. The finger grooves allow you hand and fingers to rest comfortably while moving it around. It’s actually shaped exactly the same as the mouse I use on my desktop (which is not wireless) so it’s a good match for me in that respect.
It’s so easy to install too. Just plug it in. No downloading or installing drivers involved. You can also use it on a PC or a MAC, which I thought was an interesting feature. There is also a nice power saving feature too that shuts the battery down while not in use. This extends your battery life (it takes 1 AA battery ) up to three times longer so that you’re not constantly replacing batteries twice a day.

Get Online and Have Fun …. with Your Nintendo Wii!
The number one reason why people buy a Nintendo Wii is for the gaming, no doubt about that. However, there are plenty of other things you can do with your Wii console that go well beyond just basic video games. It really is more than just a game system.
The thing I find the most useful about the Wii is the ability to access the internet from the Wii. It’s a great way for the kids to get online and have fun. You can use the Wiimote as usual or you can invest in a keyboard that plugs into the USB port. While you are on the Internet Channel you can create your own games. Once you have created them you can actually play them on your Wii. How cool is that? Your kids can make up their own game and then play it with their friends and family. (Well, my 8 year old thinks it’s exciting anyway…)
Each Nintendo Wii comes with a sixteen digit code. This is what you will share with others who you want to join games with online. You aren’t exchanging personal information that can let someone know who you are or where you live, so it’s a safe way for the kids to enjoy the fun of playing with others without setting up accounts etc. That sixteen digit number is attached to your gaming console and not to anything about the owner or where it is located at.

Garmin 305 Forerunner with Heart Rate Monitor
This is probably one of the best looking heart rate monitors you’ll ever find. I’ve noticed that good heart rate monitors tend to be dull, black, and boring. This handy friend comes in a few different colors and does more than just monitor your heart rate while you’re out jogging.
In your package you’ll find:
* Forerunner 305
* Garmin Training Center CD-ROM
* Heart rate monitor
* Docking cradle
* Expander strap
* A/C charger
* USB cable
* Owner’s manual
* Quick start guide
Now that’s a lot of stuff for just buying some watch that tells you how fast your heart is beating, right? Well, the Forerunner is no ordinary sports watch! The high-sensitivity GPS tracks and measures distance, heart rate, multiple laps, calories burned, speed, time, altitude as well as pace. If you are a road runner training for your big race, or if you are a triathlete aiming for a big goal, this is your must-have piece of equipment.
If you don’t like running on your own, you have the option of a virtual running partner program. This allows you to compete against a virtual runner that will keep you going.
The Forerunner 305 comes with a docking station and software to upload runs to your PC. You as a user will be able to view maps of your distances run, you will also be able to see your progression during the runs in altitude and pace. At the same time this watch also records your heart rate, which is also available to download.

DRI Sleeper Alarm System
So this gadget isn’t really stylish, or fun, and it doesn’t play music, video games, or make phone calls. However, as a parent I did find it interesting and worth a techie mention.
Bedwetting is quite a common occurrence which can be very hard on children and parents alike. It is particularly difficult when your child gets older and wants to enjoy sleepovers or or go to summer camp. The DRI Sleeper Alarm system is a small moisture detector that attaches inside the underpants.
It is designed to notice even the tiniest spot of urine and an alarm will go off to wake up your child. This is particular helpful if you’ve got a heavy sleeper that doesn’t realize they’re wet until they start getting the chills an hour or so later! That’s not comfortable for anyone, and it definitely makes things a little more difficult to clean up.
The detector is small and can be secured inside the underpants using a pantie liner type product or any other paper-based pad. The detector is easy to clean and designed to be reused.
According to research, in up to 90% of children over 5 years of age, an improvement in night dryness is achieved after using this device for just a few weeks. It is safe and easy to use and improves the lives of children and parents affected by bedwetting.

Freestyle Women’s The Belle Polyurethane Watch
Nothing is more uncomfortable and annoying than a soaking wet watchband! Well, maybe some things, but we’re not going to go there!
Freestyle gets that you want your watch to be waterproof, and they agree that you’re a grown up and you don’t want to wear a watch that looks like it’s meant for a 12 year old! So they’ve got a whole line of watches with polyurethane straps in sporty fun colors that keep you looking fresh.
In addition to looking cute, this watch is water resistant to 330 feet, a 10 lap memory, countdown timer, and night vision backlight. It even has a A mineral gloss lens to prevent scratches. So, this watch is a great choice for your workout, or just for a day at the beach hanging out with friends.
Of course, it might not be the best choice to go with that little black dress and stiletto pumps, but it will get the day job done and stay comfortable the whole time.

Aquapac MP3 Case
Obviously iPods and MP3 players are widely used by runners, joggers, walkers, bicyclers and generally by people that like to stay fit. A lot of those folks do their staying fit outside. Unfortunately, the weather isn’t the most cooperative thing and we all know that electronics and water don’t go very well together.
This is where the Aquapac MP3 case comes into play. Keep your MP3 player dry and enjoy your tunes all day long. This is also great for anyone that plans to enjoy some time out on the water this spring and summer. Whether you’re out there fishing or just enjoying a beautiful day at the docks. Check the screen display or use the controls right through the clear front of the case.
Aquapac is 100% waterproof and guaranteed submersible up to 15ft, and it even keeps out dust and sand too, so enjoy your day at the beach and don’t worry about your MP3 getting ruined. It will even float to safety if you accidentally drop it in the water, (that’s just in case you’re a clutz like me!)

Unlocking Your iPhone Can Be Dangerous
The dangers of unlocking your iPhone may not be apparently clear at first. This is, after all, something we hear about every day on the internet. However, there is a serious danger of ruining your iPhone. In my opinion that makes it a very expensive experiment, and I wouldn’t go trying it out just to see what might or might not happen. In many cases the damage that happens cannot be undone!
An unlocked iPhone is an iPhone that has its firmware hacked into. The most common reason for this is so that the user can bypass the Apple – AT&T exclusive agreement that AT&T is the sole provider of cell phone service for the iPhone. When you unlock your iPhone, you are allowing the iPhone to be used on any cell phone network using standard GSM technology.
The reason we hear about this so often is that while AT&T has a pretty big network, there are definitely areas where it’s not available. My friend Angela and I were discussing this today actually. She can’t get the AT&T service in her small town area, so even though she really wanted the iPhone, she settled on another phone that was compatible with the cell phone plans available to her. Of course, other folks simply might not want to change their service providers, yet they want the style icon and fun extras that an iPhone offers.
You may have heard several different pieces of information about how to execute an unlock for the iPhone. Not only can you unlock iPhone firmware 1.0.2, now firmware 1.1.2 is also cracked and so is firmware 1.1.3. If your read all of the hype, then you might think that this is not a big deal and anyone can do it. You even have the choice of purchasing an unlock from one of several unlocking sites or you can search YouTube for the latest video on how to unlock your iPhone. There is risk associated with this, especially if you start messing around with the bootload program. The dangers of unlocking your iPhone may actually outweigh the benefits.
If you make a major mistake, you can “brick” your iPhone. This is exactly what it sounds like, your iPhone locks up, cannot be recovered from, and is now nothing more than an expensive shiny brick. At best you can use it as a fancy paperweight on your desk.
What about buying an unlocked iPhone? Here again the dangers of unlocking your iPhone still hold true, only this time you have no idea of how the phone was unlocked. Vendors selling unlocked iPhones may not be so helpful, but you can try to contact them for help. Honestly, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for a reply from them.
The best thing to do is to see what service providers are available in your area, that meet your personal phone needs, and then choose your cell phone. There are plenty of other amazing smartphones out there… the iPhone is just one in a sea of many!

Sync Your iPhone and Your Computer
Let’s face it, we live in a technology based world these days. The computer has quickly become the central hub of the home, and more and more things start and end there. Your iPhone is no exception. While the handy little phone from Apple is full of amazing functions all on it’s own, you may want to sync up with your home computer.
First things first, the technical requirements you’ll want to have:
• Mac or PC with USB 2.0 port
• System requirements include Mac OS X 10.4.10 or higher, Windows XP Home or Pro – Service Pack 2 or higher, Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate edition
• Resolution for the display on your computer set to 1024 x 768 or better
• iTunes software version 7.5 or better, especially if you choose to use the iPod feature and an account with iTunes online
• Internet connection engaged on the computer and enabled on the iPhone itself
The amazing thing about the iPhone, and the thing that draws so many people to it over other smartphones is the number of advanced and extra features it offers. If you have all of the above you’ll be able to take advantage of them. Once you’re confident that you have a fully compatible system, you can work on getting set up and synced.
In order to access the port of your iPhone all you really need to do is plug the proper cable in. One side will attach to the iPhone, the other will attach to your USB 2.0 or higher port. After that, the syncing is automatic unless you don’t have the appropriate system requirements.
For example, if you want to sync the iTunes on your computer as well as your library, all you need to do is plug in the cable and the iPhone does it automatically.
You can also sync other features with your computer such as email. Depending on the function you want to sync, you may need to access the settings for it under the corresponding application on your iPhone to set things up.

The Urbanspoon iPhone Application
The latest iPhone application that I am using now is the UrbanSpoon application. Can you believe this? It is really the cutting edge technology. It is designed to find restaurants near you.This is another one that you might have seen on a commercial on TV one night.
It uses a graphical interface similar to a slot machine. Depending on your location, it will locate cities and a lot of variety of restaurants to pick from. The following are the inputs fields to search for any restaurant. It will give you an option to input the price range, city and type of restaurant you are looking for.
You only have to enter your location, shake your iPhone, and it will starch a search that looks like a slot machine. and viola, there is your restaurant. The three criteria spin until they land on something. It is so cool that you can lock on the fields in the slot machine search and the other two will keep spinning until it finds something.
This is a fun way to find new restaurants that you have not been to before, and in some cases you’ll find restaurants in your area that you’ve never even heard of. UrbanSpoon has a list of reviews from recent customers who visited a restaurant and submitted their reviews on their iPhone.
The good part of this all is that you can search of any restaurant by using a price range. You may try to know a restaurant how things are sold before hand personally one should have a knowledgeable idea of what price you are going to pay for food before entering the restaurant.
One feature of UrbanSpoon that you would not notice is that it finds restaurants, it does not just search restaurants close to the city you choose, but your current position based on the iPhone’s GPS navigation. It is really a great tool in finding restaurants near your location at any given place. It might sometimes show a different results when being at a neighbors house, or local ice cream shop that’s a couple of blocks away from my house. The radius it will search, but it is estimated between five to ten miles.

Are You Loopt on Your iPhone?
If you have an iPhone, you might have heard of one the new applications people are talking about called Loopt. Loopt is a location based social network application. It tracks down the location and share your information with your friends on your current location and at the same time tells you were your friends are.
It is a way of been nosy, almost like stalking people with permission. LOL - You are also able to change your location manually by overriding automatic location. It means that you can lie about were you are. To me this is a safety feature so that you don’t have to worry about being followed by someone when you’re alone.
One of the cool features is that it accurately displays what particular street and the distance they are away from. The application can be easily customized. Loopt has being teaming up with other companies to give the ability to in local information within an area. One of the companies Loopt team up with is called Yelp.
By teaming up with Yelp, it has the given the Loopt user access to able to see the 10 coolest places around them. It even goes further to include features based on personal recommendation, and what remarks your friends have recently left on a place they have been. Loopt is constantly updating its software and will be adding more partners in the weeks and months ahead.
In each of your friends profile, you will be a to place comments, text and even use a “My Favorite” to get directions to a location. The good thing about that is you will never have to call any one to give you directions to where you want to go. All you have to do to get directions is to simply open up your Loopt application on your iPhone.
Another feature available of the Loopt is what is called the Loopt Mix. It allows to custom create a profile that lets you connect to other user of the application who are not in your address list but might share similar interest. Loopt will not share any of your personal information unless you manually go in to change the command.
One of the great things about the Loopt application is that it is not just for the iPhone alone but you can also connect with other user who have the same application on their phone. Blackberry has a Loopt Application, so you will also be able to connect with friends who have a Blackberry.
