T-Mobile G1 aka the Google Phone
I’m sure by now you’ve heard more than enough about the Google phone that everyone was waiting for. It is said to be the major competition for Apple’s iPhone. But, gosh darn it, here I am talking about it some more.
If you go to the store and ask for the shiny new Google phone, what you’re actually buying is the T-Mobile G1. It’s being sold and taken care of T-Mobile, so that’s who you’ll be signing up with for service should you go after one of these interesting phones.

I sort of like what Dian said over at Gotta Have; “In appearance, the gadget looks a lot like a Darth Vader version of the iPhone — all angles and pop-out surprises.” That seems very true. Are you prepared to have a lightsaber duel between the iPhone and the Google phone?!
Okay, enough with the dramatics. I have to agree with Dian on another point. The G1 has one important feature that the iPhone is missing. A slide out keyboard. I love a full keyboard on a smartphone! The iPhone’s touch screen is awesome, but for those texting maniacs out there, nothing replaces a full QWERTY keyboard!

Club Cards and ID’s on Your iPhone
I read this tip over at Gizmodo this week and I thought it was a great idea. You know how you have all those cards cluttering your purse and wallet? Cards for the gym, cards for the library, cards for school, cards, cards, cards. It can be quite maddening sometimes, and they’re so easy to lose when you’re always pulling them out and putting them back.
Just take pictures of your club cards (Costco, Safeway, Blockbuster), import them into your iPhone as an album, and trim down the number of cards you have to carry in your wallet. When you need to use a card, just whip out your phone and show it to the cashier, hoping that they don’t get too uppity about your cleverness.
Now, how clever is that? As long is the card isn’t one that needs scanned this tip should work for you. In addition to that I would also say that it’s not a bad idea to upload copies of your ID’s, license, school ID etc to your iPhone also… that way if your wallet is lost or stolen and you still have your phone you can show proof that you’re in fact you. Got to love our technology.

Is Your Phone Smart Enough?
I am of course talking about Blackberry Smartphones. They are all the chatter everywhere this week, I even saw people talking about them in my Twitter stream. I will confess, I do not yet have a Blackberry at all. I have resisted giving in to the craze, but it’s getting harder and harder by the day to continue resisting. They have so many great features about them, stunning displays, sophisticated user interfaces and full-QWERTY keyboards… what’s not to like?
The BlackBerry smartphone’s support for tri-band HSDPA and enterprise-grade Wi-Fi networks and its next-generation mobile processor make downloading email attachments, streaming video and rendering web pages easy as dialing your phone. Integrated MP3 Player makes taking your tunes with you easy and best of all eliminates the need to carry a separate MP3 player leaving more room in your bag or pocket for other things. The BlackBerry Smartphone also includes 64 MB of on built in memory plus it has a microSD Card slot for easy expansion and the ability to easily transfer from your Blackberry to your computer or laptop.
Have you turned into a Blackberry addict yet?
