Recently Sony invited a select group of “Mommy Bloggers” for a getaway weekend, without the kids and to give them the opportunity to learn how to take great pictures in the process. Who could turn that down? Beautiful beach weekend away, no kids, free vacation and the chance to sample some new Sony gadgets!? Dream come true for every tech style momma.

At the event the moms were given not just one camera to take pictures with, but three different fabulous cameras! And the best part, they got to keep them when the weekend was over. They received the Sony Cybershot, Sony Alpha DSLR-A300, and a Sony Handycam. And then they went through mini classes to learn how to use the cameras in the best ways to take great pictures of their kids, and of course anything else they wanted to take pictures of too.

They learned the ins and outs of face detection on the Sony Cybershot. And they had group sessions with the folks at Sony to discuss ideas about making their products appeal to women. The response from both the moms and Sony seemed to be really great and I think that both sides probably learned a lot. I think it’s great to see a big company like Sony reaching out to the people that use it’s products, getting their input, and sharing ideas with them.
