What Laptop Bag Do You Carry?
So, normally in Sunday’s Bag I tell you about cool bags that I use or that I’ve come across online. Now, I’m reaching out and asking you what laptop bag you carry. Tell me why your bag is awesome and why I should want one!
I’ve got a bit of travel this year starting with a trip to Pennsylvania in July. We’ll be driving up as a family in the van, but hubby is coming home early to go back to work, and I’m taking the kids camping from there and then catching the train home. We rode the train last year and I found my messenger style bag a bit to big and bulky to carry around through the station and on the train. So, I’m looking for something a bit more compact. My laptop is only a 14 inch, so I don’t need a big bag to accommodate it. (Although I’m hoping to have bought a netbook by then so I don’t have to take the laptop at all!)
I’ve also got some travel in August and October for business where I’ll be taking the laptop for sure so I can work on projects on the fly. I don’t have a lot of extras in my laptop bag, just the laptop, the AC cord/charger, a USB mouse. My flash drives and my cell phone will be in my purse or on my lanyard around my neck, not in the bag.
So, I don’t need a ton of pockets and I don’t need a huge size…. Pretty fabrics make me happy, as do multiple choices when it comes to colors and fabrics when I find a style that I like. If I’m going to carry it I want it to look good. I’ll be flying in August and October so airline friendly is good also!
Bring it on! I want to hear all your bag recommendations! I’ll be blogging about the different choices recommended with thank you links back to those that recommended them as well, so be sure to leave a link to your blog or twitter when you comment.

Love Is In the Laptop Bag?
Who says you can’t change your laptop bag with your mood? Certainly not me. I love laptop bags as much any other purse or bag I’ve ever carried, and the last thing I want to carry is a boring black bag.
This classic hobo style bag has loads of space inside for all your gear and a beautiful fabric outside for a little bit of pizazz to your style for the day. Definitely not your run of the mill computer on the go type of bag. On the inside you’ll find the main compartment, or course, and 3 additional elasticized compartments to hold your extra battery, your power cord, your pens, whatever you need to stuff in there.
Okay, so this bag is more than just a laptop bag. It’s more like an anything you need it to be bag. It can be a very large purse, it can be a diaper bag, it can be a laptop bag, or it can even be all of the above all at once if that’s what you need it to be. Great multifunction capability from a bag is one of the world’s little gifts to every busy working gal on the go.
Just because you’re a working mom with loads of stuff to carry doesn’t mean you have to carry that Winnie the Pooh covered bag everywhere you go after all. I love Winnie the Pooh and Tigger just as much as the next girl, and I carried a Winnie the Pooh diaper bag lots of places, to the park, to the amusement park, and to the grocery store my cute pastel and cartoon covered bag would accompany me.
But, sometimes you’ve got to cram a meeting into the middle of the day, or you just want to feel a little more sophisticated for a change of pace. Those are the days you arm yourself with a great multifunction stylish beauty like this. they may only come around once in awhile, or they might be every day, either way you’ll enjoy having a bag like this on your arm.

Kensington Contour Roller Laptop Bag
This excellent laptop bag by Kensington can easily suit all of your laptop transportation needs. The retractable handle lets you roll the bag around, but also lets you carry the bag, if needed. The handle is soft and rubber, which is also comfortable and strong.
This contour roller is big, so that one can put a lot of items in it, in addition to a laptop. The bag is easy to roll because of its large wheels. The additional side bottle holder is very handy for any drink you may have on hand.
An included shoulder strap works well if there is not too many items in the bag. Made of black nylon, the bag is very stylish. The maximum screen size of the laptop that is supported is 17 inches, which is big enough for most modern laptops.
Probably the most important aspect of this bag is that it protects the computer well. What use is a bag, that if you drop it, your computer ends up broken?
Some downsides to this bag are that the zippers that are not very durable. Some of them have been known to fail (i.e.: tabs pulled out, teeth separated, stitching pulled out from the case). The case is also heavy compared to most computer bags. The bag’s dimensions are 17.5 inches deep by 9.5 inches wide by 13 inches high. This rolling laptop bag has an average “expert” rating from Testseek.com of 80 out of 100 and will cost you around $67.

HP Notebook Courier Bag
I think I’ve mentioned it before, but at the moment all three computers in our household are made by HP. It’s not that I’m brand loyal, it’s just that it worked out that way. They had the features we wanted and needed when we were shopping, along with the best price at the time. Because in my house, with 4 kids, it’s all about the budget.
Who needs or wants a bulky bag? This “Messenger” style Hewlett-Packard laptop bag is fashionable and affordable. This product combines the look of a messenger bag with the organizational features of a briefcase. This bag is designed especially for Hewlett-Packard laptops, but can hold all types of modern laptops as well. 2lbs heavy, and 3.5 inches deep, this bag certainly won’t weigh you down as you walk up several flights of stairs every morning.
This bag is one of the cheapest bags one can find on the internet, but it is also very durable. It has additional compartments that do not corrupt the artistic look and feel of the bag. Use the zip pockets and exterior open pocket to stash extra accessories like your pens, AC adapter, and mouse. Never fear accidentally dropping your laptop ever again - its cushion padded notebook compartment insures that your laptop will be safe from harm at all times.
A quick word of caution about this bag, it looks very much like a traditional laptop bag. That’s not always a bad thing, but it can be sometimes, especially if one lives in a city or works in an area where there are many people around. This bag screams of having a laptop inside, and therefore criminals will probably eye this bag. However, if you’re safe with it, it’s HP. It’s bound to be a good product. The total dimensions of this bag are 15.25 x 12.25 x 3.5 inches, and it costs right around $50 bought new. You never know around here though, the price has been noted to go as low as $17.99 so keep your eye on PriceGrabber.com to get the best deal.

This bag looks like a purse, so no one would ever know there was a notebook computer inside. Its stylish and chic look is unknown to the notebook bag market. The maximum screen size of this bag 15.4 inches, and the compartment depth is 15.3 inches. The total dimensions of the bag are 18 inches deep, 14.5 inches wide, and 5 inches high, and the total weight is around 4 pounds-ish.

Targus Citylite NB Case

The Targus CITYLITE Notebook Laptop computer case is exactly what you need in order to carry your computer all over creation. Never again worry about dropping your hardware and having it splatter all over the sidewalk! Its padded computer compartment will accommodate all laptops with screens up to 15 inches.
The front compartment is handy enough to store all of your computer accessories such as your mouse, AC adapter, and mouse pad. Additionally, the bag has a pocket that expands to store all your documents, paperwork, and files. You can easily grab your bag with one hand, so you can you’re your coffee in one hand while you carry this into work. Never get bogged down with a retractable handle that is such a pain to extend and lug around on the ground.
The bag also has an untraditional look, so it is not as appealing to thieves. Some bags just scream “steal me!” A caution about this bag is that it does not have a lot of moisture control. If you work in an area by the coast, Seattle for example, this is not the bag for you. This bag soaks in moisture like a sponge. The total dimensions of the bag are 4 inches deep, 15.7 inches wide, and 13.7 inches high, with a weight of 2.2 lbs. This bag received a review of 70 out of 100 from Testseek.com.

In Plain View DS Lite Cases for on the Go
Since we were talking about the new DSi coming out, I thought it might be appropriate to look for a fun DS carrying bag that doesn’t have Pokemon on it so that you don’t look like a 12 year old carrying your DS around with you. Although, some of those Pokemon sure are cute!
I choose this plain mint green DS Lite case for a few reasons. One, it’s not covered in cartoon creatures, which is key if you’re trying to be subtle about carrying around your DS. Depending on where you live, this might be important. If you ride the subway or bus to school/work/shopping you may need to be subtle as people have had their iPods, Blackberry, and video games taken from them in several cities. Always be aware of your surroundings and stay safe, please.
In addition, it could be mistaken for a wallet or, as much as I hate to say it out loud, a tampon case. Throw this in your day tote and a passer by might just think that it’s something else! Now, if you’re not trying to be subtle about what is in the case then by all means go for a much cuter, cartoon emblazoned carrying bag for your DS Lite!
There are plenty of options out there for carrying your DS around in style and protecting it from drops, bumps, and nasty weather. Along with a host of other cool accessories, like fun decorated stylus pens and gel skins to change the look of your system.

Leica Brown Leather Camera Bag
I chose today’s bag because it reminded of an old fashioned camera case brought into the modern day. The brown leather design is simple, but elegant. And, of course, the sturdy leather protects your camera.
This camera case features a magnetic closure to help make sure it’s always closed. The removable leather shoulder strap lets you choose how to carry this case. You can remove the strap and toss the case in your purse or tote bag, or you can leave it attached and carry it solo, giving you plenty of camera carrying flexibility.
I found the style to be reminiscent of what my dad had for his camera when I was little. He was always snapping pictures and showing me how to use different lenses and filters on the camera. I wish a little more of his camera-smarts had rubbed off on me. I’m definitely more of a point and shoot kind of gal.

Pink Deluxe Leather Camera Case from Canon
Up until now all our Sunday’s Bag bags have been for computers. But, hey, you’ve got more stuff to carry around than just your laptop! How about your camera, for example?
This week’s bag is a Deluxe Leather camera bag from Canon made specifically for thier SD1000 and SD770IS digital cameras. I’m sure you can guess from the picture here that those are slim line cameras.
The leather camera case provides protection from the usual things like dust and bumps and drops. Believe it or not this tiny little bag also has storage space for your extra memory cards and goodies.
I sort of like that the case was made specifically for certain model cameras. With my smaller camera I always found generic off the shelf camera bags much too big. Sometimes too big can be just as complicated as too small. All that extra space in the bag and your camera is bouncing around. With a nice snug fit there’s no bouncing and better care for your digital camera.
Stay tuned for more Sunday’s Bag … yo unever know what we’ll be carrying next week.
