Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000
This handy little wireless mouse comes in a variety of colors. I chose the green, because it’s my favorite color
The Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 3000 is a practical mouse with a tiny snap receiver that will plug directly into your laptop or snaps into the mouse for easy storage.
I have two complaints with this particular mouse, so let’s get those out of the way right off the bat. It doesn’t come with a carrying case. Even though the receiver will snap into the bottom of the mouse it would be nice to have a case to put it in before I toss it in my laptop bag so that I know it’s protected and not getting bounced around too much.
Secondly, this mouse is very sensitive. This can make it a little difficult to get used to. I already have a rough time going from my desktop to my laptop. That’s part of the reason I carry a wireless mouse in the first place, it sort of eases the transition. But, this mouse is a million times more sensitive than what I’m used to and it tends to shake around the screen a bit.
The optical sensor for movement makes for better durability, speed, accuracy and performance. I have never had a problem with it freezing up or loosing the signal. I have used it on many different types of surfaces (table, chair arm, floor, my leg -lol-) and never had a problem with it. The small size makes it easy to maneuver in either your right or left hand. The finger grooves allow you hand and fingers to rest comfortably while moving it around. It’s actually shaped exactly the same as the mouse I use on my desktop (which is not wireless) so it’s a good match for me in that respect.
It’s so easy to install too. Just plug it in. No downloading or installing drivers involved. You can also use it on a PC or a MAC, which I thought was an interesting feature. There is also a nice power saving feature too that shuts the battery down while not in use. This extends your battery life (it takes 1 AA battery ) up to three times longer so that you’re not constantly replacing batteries twice a day.

Apple’s Airport Wireless Card
Looking for a fancy new wireless card to hook up to your PC or laptop? Check out the Apple Airport Card.
The Apple Airport Card is, of course, designed by Apple, insuring that it has the sleek and stylish design included with all Apple products. The device is compatible with any AirPort enabled Macintosh systems. One plus of the Apple Airport Card is it’s ease of use.
You can plug it into your Macintosh system and, within minutes, be watching videos on YouTube, talking to friends on Faceboook, or doing whatever else you do on the web. Credit on this feature goes to both the hardware and the Mac OS X operating system.
The Apple Airport Card can connect to any 802.11b (or better) wireless network. Although this isn’t the newest technology, all newer wireless network systems, such as 802.11g, are backwards compatible with this. 802.11b allows speeds up to around 11 Mbit/s, plenty of speed for surfing the web or downloading music.
Be sure that if you have a newer Macintosh system, this card is NOT compatible with systems that accept the Apple Airport Extreme Card. The Apple Airport Extreme Card is an upgrade to the Apple Airport Card. It is smaller in size and offers higher speeds. Because of the size difference, new Macintosh systems that take the Extreme card cannot use this card.
Likewise, any older Macintosh system needs to use this card, and not the Apple Airport Extreme Card. Be sure that you buy the correct card for your system. Connect your Macintosh system and surf the web from anywhere (in range to your wireless network) with the Apple Airport Card.

Asus Eee PC 2G Surf Notebook
There’s such a big variety of laptops out there right now, it truly is amazing to see them all. One that I noticed recently was the Asus Eee PC 2G Surf Notebook, and not just because of the fun range of colors available.
This 7 inch wonder let’s you take the web with you anywhere. And it only takes a quick 15 seconds to boot up, so you can get logged on and find what you’re looking for fast! Wi-Fi is built right in, so you don’t have to worry about getting any extra add ons. This mini-computer is ready to go right out of the box. And the built-in speakers, and microphone make sure you can communicate without the need for additional attachments.
Fully functionable, you can surf the web, chat on Skype, and enjoy music and videos just like you normally would. It’s a lightweight at just 2 pounds, and the price isn’t too hard on your pocketbook either. Making this perfect for travel or everyday use. I’m thinking this could be great for those days where I have long bus rides and don’t want to carry around my bulky laptop bag all day while I’m shopping.

Sony Mylo 2
This amazing little gizmo is more than just your PDA. The Mylo 2 includes an onboard 1.3-megapixel camera, AIM integration, widget support, and direct downloads and/or uploads. Wi-Fi powered so there are no monthly bills to worry about when you’re using the Mylo. Just hit your favorite hot spot, or even from the comforts of your home wireless connection.
Keep in mind this is for those of us that are keeping it simple. If you need more connectivity and more advanced features than you want to look into a smartphone that uses bluetooth and cellular technology. The Sony Mylo is for quick connections and keeping yourself organized. You can browse the web as long as you’re near a Wi-Fi spot. The 3.5-inch LCD touch screen and QWERTY full keyboard make everything a breeze, and the 1 GB storage keeps what you need while you’re on the go.
And if the shiny and black and white look isn’t your style you can always grab faceplate packs in Rose & Olive or Sapphire & Platinum. I recommend the Rose & Olive faceplate pack myself.
